Denver Police respond to Denver Health on a report of a man with a gun

DENVER — Police responded to Denver Health Medical Center on a report of a man with a gun Thursday afternoon.

Reports from the scene shortly after police arrived indicated no shooting victim had been found and that a possible suspect got into a vehicle and drove away.

FOX31 Denver’s Justin Joseph reported a witness told him she saw a man with a long gun outside the medical center. He got into an SUV and drove away without firing any shots.

That same witness told police she saw the man with the gun walking along Bannock Street toward West Sixth Avenue.

The vehicle, possible a dark-colored SUV, was last seen southbound on Bannock from Sixth, according to police communications at the scene.

An area bounded by Sixth and Eighth avenues and Bannock and Delaware streets was closed but quickly reopened.
