Presidential candidate ‘Deez Nuts’ polls well in three states
RALEIGH, N.C. — It’s a long road to the 2016 presidential election. And also a wacky one.
Another candidate has joined the race and he’s named himself after an infamous rap song name, “Deez Nuts,” the New York Daily News reported.
“Deez Nuts” filed official paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run for president, CBS News reported, joining more than 500 other contenders.
But Nuts, who is running as an independent, is shockingly polling well in North Carolina, where he received the support of 9 percent of likely voters in a recent poll. Nuts also garnered 8 percent of likely voters in Minnesota and 7 percent in Iowa.
But Nuts won’t last, mainly because he’s ineligible to run. Nuts is actually a 15-year-old boy from rural Wallingford, Iowa.
“When I heard about the Limberbutt McCubbins story, I realized I could,” Brady Olson, aka “Deez Nuts,” told The Daily Beast, referring to another fake candidate.
“The next step is to get some party nominations, like the Minnesota Independence Party or the Modern Whig Party. It would also be great to find a VP, preferably McCubbins because the Nuts/McCubbins ticket sounds amazing.”
