Police on lookout for drive-by purse snatcher in metro Denver

DENVER — Police in and around the Denver metro area are on the lookout for a suspect accused of stealing purses in a drive-by fashion.

According to Arvada Police, the suspect drives a faded silver Honda Civic or Accord and is suspected of partaking in similar crimes in Denver, Glendale, Englewood and Arvada.

“The suspect reportedly drives the mentioned car directly behind women carrying their purses, reaches out the window and takes the purses from the victim’s shoulder,” Arvada Police wrote in a press release.

The suspect is a white male, according to police, and thought to be in anywhere between late 20s and early 40s with dark blondish or reddish hair. He may also have a skinny build.

Police are urging anyone who comes across this vehicle or suspect to not attempt to make contact. Instead, dial 911.

If you believe you have information about these crimes, police are urging you to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for up to $2,000 in reward money.
