CONIFER, Colo. — Three people were killed and one other was seriously injured after a car crash Friday night on Highway 285 and South Turkey Creek Road, the Colorado State Patrol said.

On Sunday, the victims were identified as Samantha Manzanarez-Benavidez, 23, Chelsey Gallegos, 25, and Sean Muniz, 22, all from the Denver metro area.

The driver of a 2008 BMW 328 was identified as Alex Granillo-Alvarado, 22. He was in serious condition Sunday at St. Anthony’s West in Lakewood, officials said.

Investigators said the BMW was speeding going northbound on Highway 285 when it went off the right side of the road, slid and rolled several times, ejecting all four of the victims.

Alcohol is suspected as a factor of the crash, pending toxicology tests.

Investigators believed the accident might have happened as early as 10 p.m. Friday but the accident wasn’t reported to police until 8 a.m. Saturday.
