BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A man was assaulted and stabbed by his wife on Tuesday morning, the Broomfield Police Department said.

The incident happened about 3 a.m. in the 5000 block of West 126th Circle when a 45-year-old man ran to a neighbor’s house after reportedly being stabbed by his wife, police said.

Carmen Bermudez, 33, was taken into custody on suspicion of domestic violence, criminal attempt of first-degree murder and first-degree assault.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. He remained hospitalized Tuesday afternoon but his condition was not released.

Bermudez is expected to appear in court Wednesday for advisement on the charges. She was being held without bond.
