PUEBLO, Colo. — A man died in a three-vehicle accident on Sunday night, the Pueblo Police Department said.

The crash happened in the 700 block of North Pueblo Boulevard about 11:20 p.m. Police said a vehicle traveling southbound drove onto the raised center median and struck a light pole.

After striking the pole, the vehicle went back across the lanes and collided with the outside guard rail, where it stopped. Police said 35-year-old Robert Salas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The light pole landed in the northbound lanes where it was hit by a second vehicle. That collision caused the pole to return to the southbound lanes where it was struck by another car.

Neither of the other two drivers was injured after striking the pole.
