Accident on EB I-70 causes delays in both directions

DENVER — If you’re looking to get to DIA today, leave early; an accident on eastbound Interstate 70 has caused backups on both directions of the highway Friday morning.

The accident was reported by CDOT at 7:15 a.m. just east of Monaco Parkway on eastbound I-70.

Two lanes of eastbound I-70 were closed during clean-up, with one reopened around 7:45 a.m. Delays were apparent on both sides of the highway.

The accident was cleared with all lanes open around 8:35 a.m.

There was no word from officers on whether anyone was injured or what caused the crash.
