EAGLE, Colo. — The parents of a 4-month-old Avon girl whose death last month was ruled a homicide were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of child abuse.

Patrick Williams, 31, appeared in Eagle County District Court and was advised he would be charged with felony child abuse causing death, felony child abuse criminal negligence and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse. Bail was set at $100,000.

Lossie Thomas, 24, was arrested in Denver and is scheduled to appear in court later Thursday. Both are being held at the Eagle County Detention Facility.

The Eagle County District Attorney’s Office alleges the 4-month old girl Paris Williams was underweight, and had skin rashes and ulcers when she died June 8. The exact cause of death has not been released.

“There is no more important case to our office than one that involves a child who is the victim,” Eagle County District Attorney Bruce Brown said.

Williams and Thomas have two other children who have been placed in the custody of child protective services.
