DENVER -- Their main game is basketball and their motto is "Be a good player, be a better person."

We often talk so much about college and professional sports but this story celebrates the importance of youth sports.

The Colorado Miners is a nonprofit organization working in a challenging part of east Denver. The people there teach great basketball skills and even better life responsibility skills.

Nick Griffith spent some time at the gym, and shows us how this inspiring program makes a huge difference ... even life-altering impact on its young participants.
