Man in 70s pulled from South Platte River in Denver; critical condition

DENVER — A man was pulled from the South Platte River north of downtown Denver on Tuesday morning, according to the Denver Fire Department.

The man, described as white and in his 70s, was pulled by dive teams near 35th Street and Arkins Court about 11:40 a.m. The Denver Police Department also helped firefighters in finding the body.

The man went into the river near Confluence Park about 2 miles upstream about 11:05 a.m.

Denver Fire said CPR was performed on the man after he was recovered. He was transported to a local hospital and was reportedly in critical condition.

The identity of the man has not been released.
