DENVER — Eastbound I-70 was closed after a Dodge Durango towing a camping trailer crashed just outside of the tunnel on Monday.

The crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. and the truck was blocking all lanes of eastbound I-70, near mile marker 216.

CDOT directed traffic to the exit ramp to get drivers off the highway, around the crash, then back on.

On the other side of the Eisenhower tunnel, CDOT conducted a traffic hold so vehicles weren’t stuck in the tunnel.

The highway was reopened at 2:25 p.m.

Injuries from the incident were not reported as serious.
