‘Empire’ singing contest has season two appearance as grand prize

HOLLYWOOD — The hit show “EMPIRE” is bringing fans the ultimate music experience this summer as it launches the “FOX’s Next Empire Artist” contest.

It kicks off with a the start of a national bus tour July 16 in Los Angeles.

Fans will will need to submit a short a capella video performance as an individual or a group between July 16 and September 23. Submissions can be made online. Find all of the rules and entry information here.

One lucky winner will appear as an EMPIRE artist during season two.

Having taken TV audiences by storm in its record-setting first season, EMPIRE returns for its second season Wednesday, Sept. 23 (8:00-9:00 p.m. MT), as the No. 1 series on broadcast television. A drama about a family dynasty, set within the world of music, glamour, danger and power, EMPIRE shattered ratings records every week in its debut season; spawned hit records “Drip Drop” and “You’re So Beautiful”; and made Cookie Lyon a household name
