COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A man was caught on a video recording stealing a 27-foot truck loaded with the personal belongings of another man who just moved to Colorado Springs.

Tim Morrissey left the truck parked near Interstate 25 and Garden of the Gods Road.

Surveillance video shows someone walking up to the truck and working to get the door open. Morrissey said he wasn't worried about the truck getting stolen because the battery was dead.

But the thief took the time and effort to change the battery, then drove off with the truck and Morrissey's belongings.

"Every book, every photograph, every piece, article of furniture ... it's all 100 percent gone. And it's not inexpensive stuff. I pretty much spent my life savings on my home," he said.

The truck is a yellow 2002 GMC with a faded logo on the side and Colorado license plates.
