WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. --  A semitrailer jackknifed on Interstate 70 early Monday morning, spilling 50 gallons of diesel fuel and closing two of the three eastbound lanes.

The truck crashed into a guardrail before jackknifing about 3:45 a.m. just east of the Ward Road exit, the Wheat Ridge Police Department said.

Only one lane of traffic was getting by and the lanes reopened about 8 a.m. after crews worked to clean up the accident, repair the guardrail and remove the diesel fuel.

Police said the driver of the semi and a passenger were not injured.
