Motorcyclist dies after crashing into barrier on I-70

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A single motorcycle accident on westbound Interstate 70 killed a motorcycle rider on Sunday afternoon.

Police received a call around 12:25 p.m. for a motorcycle accident at westbound I-70 and mile marker 259 for Morrison Road.

The motorcycle rider slammed into a concrete barrier and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Colorado State Patrol officials.

Police are unsure if the victim was wearing a helmet at the time.

The victim has not been identified at this time.

The inside lane of I-70 in both directions was closed as troopers investigated, but was reopened at 3:05 p.m.
