Police investigate shattered truck window on I-25 in Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- Police said the driver of a GMC pickup truck was able to safely stop after the passenger-side window shattered as he drove southbound on Interstate 25 near 144th Avenue late Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators said he was driving in the center lane of the interstate and there were no vehicles next to him. He was uninjured.

"We have been in contact with the task force working in Northern Colorado regarding similar incidents. Should we find any evidence we believe may be related to the incidents occurring in Northern Colorado we will notify them," Westminster police said in a news release.

Law enforcement agencies are investigating other cases of shootings on highways and streets in northern Colorado. Two people have died and one was injured in those incidents.

"We are asking all drivers along the I-25 corridor to remain aware of their surroundings. If you see something that may be out of place or something just doesn’t feel right, please contact police immediately," Westminster police said Tuesday night.
