Rafter dies in Fremont County after possible heart attack

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. — A man on a commercial rafting trip in Fremont County died Saturday during a rafting accident, possibly due to a heart attack.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a river raft accident in the Salt Lick area of the Arkansas River west of Canon City around 2:12 p.m.

The victim suffered a possible heart attack. CPR assistance was given, police reports say, but the victim died on the scene.

The Fremont County Coroner has identified the victim as 52-year-old Eduardo Hernandez of Lakewood.
