FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The lead singer of the band Smash Mouth had a meltdown after being hit by pieces of bread while on stage during a concert at a Taste of Fort Collins on Sunday night.

Vendors were giving out free bread loaves at the event earlier in the day, the Coloradoan reported, and fans began lobbing the bread at the band during the concert.

Video provided by Kay Bennett shows vocalist Steve Harwell cursing at fans, saying he would beat them up. He then yells profanities at the crowd before being escorted off the stage by security.

The incident quickly went viral on social media.
