GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — Interstate 70 reopened on Thursday afternoon after a rock slide at Hanging Lake tunnel closed both directions of the highway in Glenwood Canyon in the morning, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

The slide happened about 8:20 a.m. The westbound lanes were initially closed and the eastbound lanes remained open, but the eastbound lanes were closed about 10:30 a.m.

CDOT said seven to eight 1-ton boulders fell onto the interstate. No vehicles were involved and no injuries have been reported.
