11-year-old boy dies in Leadville mobile home fire

LEADVILLE, Colo. — A fire at a mobile home killed an 11-year-old boy late Friday night.

Just before midnight late Friday night, Leadville and Lake County Fire Rescue responded to multiple 911 calls of a fire at the Mountain View West trailer park.

When they arrived on scene, they found the trailer fully engulfed in 11-foot to 15-foot flames.

Police say everyone but an 11-year-old boy was able to escape the trailer when it started to burn. The 11-year-old died in the fire.

Firefighters from multiple counties responded and the fire was out by 3:53 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
