DENVER -- A Navy fighter plane fresh from action was towed from Buckley Air Force Base to the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum early Thursday morning.

The plane arrived at the museum about 3:45 a.m. After a bit of cosmetic cleanup, the plane is ready to be viewed by the public.

The plane flew into Buckley late last week and it was towed eight miles to the museum, Wings Over the Rockies curator Matthew Burchette said.

"It was quite an exciting and slow adventure," Burchette said. "I'm grateful it's here in one piece."
