CDOT reopens I-70 EB after multiple crashes, warns semi-trucks to “chain up”

Eastbound I-70 was closed on Friday morning at Silverthorne.

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. — Eastbound I-70 was closed Friday morning  due to rain and snow that led to multiple crashes, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

CDOT tweeted that I-70 was closed eastbound at Silverthorne (mile marker 205) at 6 a.m.

CDOT tweeted at 6:25 a.m. that I-70 was reopened and all commercial motor vehicles should chain up.
