DENVER -- Police said they responded to reports of students at Skinner Middle School eating marijuana and drinking alcohol.

"Today, school staff discovered a student was in possession of alcohol and a small amount of marijuana, and learned that several other students may also have been involved," a letter to parents from Skinner Principal Michelle Koyama said. "We immediately called DPS Safety and Security and Denver police, and notified their parents"

A spokesperson with Denver Health Medical Center said one student was transported as a precaution. The student's condition did not sound serious.

FOX31 Denver sent crews to the school and worked to get more information.

The school at West 41st Avenue and Knox Court is the same school where three kids were arrested a month ago for investigation of weapons possession.
