COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A 6-year-old child was ejected from a vehicle in a Colorado Springs traffic accident Sunday afternoon.

A green truck heading east on Dublin Boulevard failed to stop for a red light at Tutt Boulevard about 3 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department reported. The truck collided with a silver Ford whose driver was attempting to make a legal westbound turn, according to police.

The collision threw the six-year-old from the Ford and also injured three other people in the vehicle. All four victims — two adults and two children — were hospitalized with serious injuries but were expected to survive, police said.

The driver of the green truck was not hurt, and was cited for a red light violation and careless driving causing injury, police said.

The intersection was closed for investigation.
