One dead, two badly hurt in motorcycle crash
PALISADE, Colo. — An investigation is underway after a crash that left two motorcyclists injured and one dead on Saturday.
The crash happened on Highway 65 east of Palisade, the Colorado State Patrol reported. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling with a group of other motorcycles when the driver lost control while negotiating a left turn, colliding with a guardrail, CSP said.
The driver of the Harley, a 55-year-old man, and his 52-year-old female passenger, were both thrown from the bike. The man died at the scene, while the woman survived with serious injuries, CSP said.
A second motorcycle in the group also crashed, leaving a 37-year-old woman with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
One lane of eastbound Highway 65 was closed for investigation for an extended period of time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
