DENVER — Three men were under arrest Saturday night after they were accused of firing shots at a Denver police Officer.

Investigators said the shooting happened at 20th and Market streets about 1 a.m. Saturday.

An officer had pulled over a vehicle when someone fired shots in his direction, the Denver Police Department said.

Police believe the traffic stop and shooting are unrelated.

“The officer was getting out of his car, contacting the traffic stop. When another vehicle came by, shots came out of that vehicle and came at the officer,” Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

When police arrived, the suspects took off in a car.

Officers say the men rammed a couple of cruisers before crashing, then ran away.

One suspect had minor injuries. No officers were not hurt.
