Istanbul police headquarters attacked; woman carrying bomb killed

ISTANBUL, Turkey– Two people — armed with guns and, in at least one case, with a bomb — attacked police headquarters in Istanbul on Wednesday, Turkey’s state broadcaster reported.

One of the assailants, a woman carrying a bomb, died in an exchange of gunfire with police, according to the TRT report.

The second person initially fled before being tracked down by police. That attacker suffered slight injuries, as did one police officer, TRT reported.
