DENVER — The all-clear was given Friday afternoon after hazardous materials crews were called out after a suspicious package with white powder was delivered to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in downtown Denver.

The suspicious package was found in the mailroom on the fourth floor of the 17th Street Plaza building at 1225 17th St.

There were no evacuations and the all-clear was given at 12:45 p.m.

Denver Fire spokesman Greg Pixley said two people might have been contaminated by the contents of the package. They were checked and are being monitored.

The powder was determined to not be dangerous and could have been some kind of protein, Pixley said.

Lawrence Street was closed to traffic and pedestrians at 17th as crews investigated.
