Poisoning of prairie dogs starts in Castle Rock; protesters express outrage and sadness

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- The fight over prairie dogs in Castle Rock could soon be over. Wednesday, crews started scattering poison on the land where they live that is set to become a large shopping development.

Protesters showed up to let the exterminators know they do not like the decision to poison the prairie dogs.

It was an emotional time for some.
