AURORA, Colo. -- There are four floors at each of the two ‘Joliet Towers,’ in Aurora.

In one building, the elevator has been broken, residents say, for a couple of months.

Maybe only a matter of inconvenience for some, but it's a little bit tougher for a 96-year-old World War II veteran.  John Steinke lives on the 2nd floor.  And while he says he’s not mad, he can’t understand why it is taking so long to get the elevator fixed.

He uses a walker to get around, and the elevator's failure has made getting around a lot more difficult for him.

A spokesperson with the Southern California-based property management company says they are aware of the issue, and place part of the blame on contractor issues.

The elevator in the other building is working.
