BOULDER, Colo. — A 40-year-old man was found dead in the Boulder Police Department’s parking lot Sunday night.

Police found the man laying next to his car with a gun shot wound, spokeswoman Kim Kobel said.

He was found dead at the scene, but foul play is not suspected.

The Boulder County  Coroner’s Office identified the man as Nathan Haselbauer from Boulder.

Haselbauer was found by a food delivery driver, who called 911 after dropping off food to a dispatcher, Kobel said.

The driver saw the man on the way back to her car and ran inside to tell the dispatcher to call 911.

Police found notes inside the man’s vehicle and inside his home, indicating he had planned to take his own life.

The coroner’s office is continuing to investigate the incident.
