COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A former financial aid officer was arrested in Idaho last week for allegedly trading financial aid in return for sex with college students.

The FBI alerted local police to a Craigslist “casual encounters” post aimed at students attending North Idaho College, The Spokesman-Review reported. Joseph M. Bekken, 36, allegedly made the following post:

“I have some extra grant money to allocate. Just looking for some potential fun on the side.”

Investigators posing as a student replied to the ad, asking what type of “fun” he was looking for.

“I’m completely open. Sex, oral, etc…watching,” Bekken allegedly responded.

Eventually, the suspect allegedly deposited $587 into the “student’s” account and was arrested when he attempted to meet the student in person. He has since been fired.
