DENVER -- A local Denver-area nail salon has gone to the dogs. They’re raising money for Big Dogs Huge Paws, a non-profit that finds forever homes for larger breed dogs.

It is 10 days of Valentine’s indulgence. "Mimosas, chocolate covered strawberries, foot massage, pedicure,” said Mary Jo Randall a volunteer for the organization.  "This is like the best of both worlds, you've got your dog companion and you're getting pampered,” she said.

File-N-Style in Congress Park is donating 20% of their proceeds from the Valentine’s Special to Big Dogs Huge Paws.

Owner Maureen MacArthur said, "We always do something with someone special and we should give back to our most loyal companions, and that's dogs."

Randall said, "We scurry to raise money, fundraise, so they can get what they need." Right now the non-profit has about 100 foster dogs. Aside from day to day care like food and love, some dogs need more than that.

"I have a foster with me today that is going to need an ACL replacement, so some of the money that comes in today will go to help us with that,” said Kati Harken with Big Dogs Huge Paws.

Even at events like this one, catered to the humans in their lives, these gentle giants still come away with so much. Harken said, “If you can hear in the background you can hear some of the rustling around back here. They love this and they love the attention." She added, "It's really good for them, it's great socialization."

File-N-Style is offering the special package through next Sunday, February 15. You can meet the adoptable dogs both weekends.
