PRIOR LAKE, Minn. — Thousands of people have been offering support to a Minnesota family after a father confronted his daughter’s bullies and their parents.

In a video on YouTube, Brad Knudson explained that the bullying took place over Snapchat on New Years Eve.

In the Snapchat, the kids in the video call the recipient “a sl*t, “a n*****,” and a “fat a** b****.”

After several Snapschats had been shared and since disappeared, in the nature of the app, Knusdon recorded what he said was the fourth bullying Snapchat permanently on his cell phone.

Knudson was able to contact the kids’ father and left him several voicemails. The bullies’ father, Deron Puro, responded surprised and didn’t see anything wrong with the situation because their family uses language like that all the time, Knudson said in the video.

After contacting Puro, Knudson posted a YouTube video explaining the back and forth messages that occurred.

He started the video saying, “We have a very beautiful African American daughter that we were very fortunate enough to adopt 11 years ago. We’ve dealt with a little bit of racism, you know, stares, things like that when she calls us mom or dad, but she didn’t notice so we just blew it off because it was directed towards us.”

In the video Knudson plays voicemails, apparently from Puro, that said the following:

“Yeah, Brad, tides have turned, huh? I guess you’re n***** lover. Call me back.”

In the video Knudson said, he told Puro that he was going to share his name and he was fine with that.

After sharing with the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools the Assistant superintendent, Jeff Holmberg said once the school district learned of the video a two-part investigation was launched, KMSP reported.

Kristi Mussman, Director of Communications of the school district released this statement:

“Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is aware of the You Tube video. First and foremost, we do not tolerate racism, harassment or bullying of any kind. We are conducting our own investigation to get a better understanding of the events that led up to this video. We have reached out to Mr. Knudson directly to offer support for his daughter. We strive to maintain safe and respectful schools for all of our students and will continue to work to ensure a safe learning environment for all of our students.”

Deron Puro was an independent contractor at a financial firm, and his employer confirmed that he is no longer associated with that company as of Jan. 21. said KMSP.
