Northbound I-25 reopens at 84th Avenue in Thornton after crash

THORNTON, Colo. — Northbound Interstate 25 was closed for more than two hours at 84th Avenue in Thornton on Monday morning because of a two-vehicle accident, the Thornton Police Department said.

The accident happened about 5:45 a.m. Traffic was diverted off the interstate at 84th Avenue then back on, and traffic quickly backed up. Southbound traffic also was impacted by the accident.

The interstate reopened just before 8 a.m.

It’s unclear what caused the accident or if there were any injuries.
