Eastbound I-76 reopens after rolled diesel tanker forces hourslong shutdown

A diesel tanker rolled over just west of Hudson and forced the closure of eastbound Interstate 76 in Lochbuie on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015.

HUDSON, Colo. — A diesel tanker rolled Wednesday morning, forcing the closure of eastbound Interstate 76 for several hours.

The accident happened just after 5  a.m. at mile marker 31 just west of Hudson.

The Colorado Department of Transportation closed the interstate at mile marker 25 in Lochbuie.

Traffic was diverted off the interstate to 168th Avenue until the interstate reopened about 12:45 p.m.

The Colorado State Patrol said the driver of the tanker was taken to a local hospital. The driver’s name and his condition were not released.
