AURORA, Colo. — Two car thieves led police on a chase Sunday morning that led to an Englewood Police officer’s vehicle rolling over.

Officers from East Metro Auto Theft Task Force spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Thornton a few days earlier at a 7-Eleven on East Quincy Avenue.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspects took off and it later crashed through the gate at Cherry Creek State Park.

An Englewood officer, who is a member of EMATT, rolled his vehicle during the pursuit but was not injured.

The vehicle became disabled in the park when Aurora Police said they stole another vehicle and fled the scene.

The suspects remain on the loose.
