2 suspects formally charged in Adams County triple homicide; victims ID’d

BRIGHTON, Colo. — Gabriel Flores and Furman Lee Leyba were formally charged Tuesday in Adams County court for their alleged roles in a triple homicide last week.

Flores, 41, is facing 21 counts, including three counts of first-degree murder, three counts of felony murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated robbery.

Leyba, 30, was charged with 13 counts, including three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated robbery. Both men were ordered held without bond.

Jason Quizada, 37, Johnny Gutierrez, 18, and Jayson Figueroa, 17, were named as the three who were shot and killed in an Adams County home Wednesday.

The Adams County District Attorney’s Office alleges Flores and Leyba also took money, firearms, drugs and credit cards at the residence.

Flores was apprehended Wednesday night after a high-speed chase in Jefferson County. night

Leyba was caught Friday when an Adams County Sheriff’s deputy was shot trying to apprehend him.

A preliminary hearing was set for Feb. 17 for both men.
