Pilot injured in crash at Fort Collins-Loveland airport

LOVELAND, Colo. — A small planed crash-landed near the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport Friday afternoon, with the pilot suffering injuries.

The City of Loveland confirmed in a tweet that the pilot was the only occupant in the Cirrus airplane at the time of the crash, which was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m.

The pilot was reportedly suffering from serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

There was no information available as to what caused the crash, but airport officials confirmed runway 15/33 was closed while the FAA carried out an investigation.
