DENVER — An alleged attack on a Denver sheriff’s deputy sparked a wild chase and a violent crash early Saturday, the Denver Police Department reported.

A male suspect was involved in a physical confrontation at a Denny’s restaurant about 1:45 a.m., eventually assaulting a deputy, DPD reported. The suspect fled in a white Cadillac with police in pursuit.

The suspect eventually crashed his vehicle into a building near Alameda Avenue and Federal Boulevard, causing his car to roll over.

The suspect was hospitalized. Neither his condition, nor the assaulted deputy’s, were known.
