FORT CARSON, Colo. — A soldier at Fort Carson has been charged with killing another soldier in Jordan in May, the Army post announced Tuesday.

An evidence hearing will be held Wednesday morning for Spc. Jeffery Page to determine if he will be court-martialed in the death of Spc. Adrian Perkins, 19, of Pine Valley, Calif.

The soldiers were in Jordan with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team. Tuesday’s announcement is the first time the Army has acknowledged Perkins was killed May 17. The Pentagon had said Perkins’ death was a “noncombat related injury.”

Page has been charged with three counts of murder, one count of manslaughter, one count of negligent homicide and one count of failure to obey an order or regulation.
