HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — Fort Bragg United States Army firefighter Staff Sgt. Brian Hessler decided to surprise his two sons after arriving home from a 10-month overseas deployment.

His family in Harnett County set off the home fire alarm so he could enter the house in full firefighter gear to “save” his two boys, Kaiden and Jace, WTVD reported.

As Hessler got the children outside to “safety,” they quickly figured out that their hero was in fact their father.
