MONTROSE, Colo. -- A day care worker in Western Colorado is accused of providing pills to thirty five toddlers without their parents' permission.
On Thursday, the Montrose Police Department confirmed they're investigating a day care employee for giving Melatonin, a natural sleep aid, to students under the guise it was candy.
"We love our children and our families, and given the current circumstances, we feel it pertinent to stand together as we await the outcome of the ongoing investigation at this time." Patricia Ray, the director of the Hug a Bear day care center said.
No children were hurt from the tablets. Investigators are still trying to figure out if this happened before. The employee is charged with non-injury child abuse.AlertMe
