Beware of flying pumpkins! Pack up the whole family and don’t miss the area’s favorite fall festival, Punkin Chunkin Colorado, held in Aurora on October 12 at a brand new venue; Arapahoe Park, 26000 East Quincy Ave. From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. visitors can cheer for their favorite team of Chunkers or get creative with hands-on crafts. There are plenty of delicious foods and beverages to enjoy as well as interactive games and activities for all ages.
Punkin Chunkin Colorado is an annual ritual where people travel for miles to see how far they can lob a gourd. It’s the 16th year for this zany event that engages the energy and ingenuity of youth and adults, while inspiring a fresh twist of creativity. This year we have a full mile range to entice the “Big Guns” and make the competition more exciting. The event includes launch divisions for various age categories and different devices (trebuchet, catapult, etc.) including four high school youth teams from Aurora Public Schools and JeffCO Open Schools. The best part…parking is FREE and entry for 12 & under is FREE. Adults and teens pay only $3 at the gate.AlertMe
