COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The second of the two jail inmates who escaped from custody while riding in a work crew vehicle was apprehended late Friday, the Colorado Department of Corrections said.

Adolfo Lopez was captured about 10:30 p.m., police said.

Lopez, 38, and Manual Rodriguez, 32, escaped about 3 p.m. Thursday while the vehicle was stopped at an intersection on Oakland Street in Denver, the Department of Corrections said.

Rodriguez was caught without incident earlier Friday in Colorado Springs in an effort by the Office of the Inspector General, the Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Rodriguez was in jail on forgery, identity theft and burglary charges. Lopez was convicted of drug charges.
