DENVER -- Lightning injured a pair of men Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Federal Boulevard and Dartmouth Avenue.

Two men in their 20s were sitting under a tree while a storm passed through the area shortly before 3 p.m., police said. Lightning apparently struck the tree or the ground close by.

Both men were hospitalized. One patient was in fair condition, while the other was in critical but stable condition after undergoing CPR. Both were expected to recover.
