DENVER -- An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a failed home invasion robbery on Monday.

Marquies Jackson was a suspect in the incident, in which two people reportedly broke into a home in the 7000 block of East Exposition Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Monday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

A second man was also detained, but later released.

Police say the suspects in the robbery fled with a resident's blue Toyota Highlander after being confronted by the homeowner. The suspects remained on the run late Monday night.

The female homeowner fired shots at the intruders, according to police.
