Denver police officer arrested on child abuse charges

DENVER — A Denver Police Department officer was arrested Saturday on child abuse charges, DPD confirmed Wednesday evening.

Patrol officer Mark Beluscak, 45, was arrested in Douglas County on a misdemeanor charge of non-injury child abuse, DPD said.

Details of the case were not immediately released.

Beluscak has been with the department since 2004, but was already on leave when he was arrested, according to DPD.
