HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. -- About 50 people attended a town hall meeting Tuesday night regarding a proposal to add tolls on a 12-mile stretch of C-470 from Interstate 25 to Wadsworth Boulevard.

The Colorado Department of Transportation, C-470 Coalition and the High Performance Transportation Enterprise held the meeting in Highlands Ranch.

C-470 officials last year determined it would pursue tolling instead of sales tax or property tax hikes to widen the stretch of highway on the southwest side of the metro area.

There were no decisions made as this was an opportunity for the public to ask questions about finance options for the project.

Officials did tell the crowd that it is highly unlikely that a public-private partnership will end up managing this project.
