USA Pro Challenge kicks off Monday with Aspen circuit race

The USA Pro Challenge begins in Aspen on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014.

ASPEN, Colo. — The fourth USA Pro Challenge begins Monday afternoon in Aspen with a circuit race.

The 61-mile race will start and end in downtown Aspen and take the riders through Snowmass Village and McLain Flats.

The race will begin about 2:40 p.m. and end about 5:15 p.m., and it will involve road closures, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Both directions of SH 82 at Owl Creek Road will be closed beginning at 2:30 p.m. and will reopen about 5:30 p.m. Delays could be up to 30 minutes.

Both directions of SH 82 into downtown Aspen will be closed to all vehicles beginning at 2 p.m. and will reopen about 5 p.m.
